【摘要】:Thisstandardprovidesadictionaryofthepossiblecomponentsofpostaladdresses,togetherwithexamplesofandconstraintsontheiruse.ThisstandardThisstandarddefinesthreehierarchicallevelsofpostaladdresscomponent:?segments,suchasaddresseespecification,whichcorrespondtomajorlogicalportionsofapostaladdress;?constructs,suchasorganisationidentification,whichgroupelementswithinsegmentsintounitswhicharemeaningfulforhumaninterpretation;?elements,suchasorganisationnameorlegalstatus,whichcorrespondtothelowestlevelofconstructs,i.e.thosewhicharenotthemselvesmadeupofsubordinateelements,thoughtheymaybesub-dividedfortechnicalpurposes.Tocovermultipleoccurrencesandlocationsofelementsinanaddress,andtobeablewherenecessarytoworkwithsub-divisionsofelementcontent,thestandarddefinesafourthlevel:?elementsub-types,suchasdoortypeordoorindicator,representingpartsofconceptualelements,suchasdoor,fordatabasestorageortofacilitatepresentation,orrepresentingmultipleinstancesofconceptualelementsforuseindefiningaddresselementstructuresortemplates.NOTETheunderlyingpointisthatelementsareconceptualwhereassub-typesaredefinedtomeettechnicalneedssuchastemplateconstruction,renditionrequirements,accuraterepresentationofaddressinstances,andmatchingtopostaldatabasefields.Thisstandardfurtherprovidesamethodologyforthespecificationofpostaladdresstemplates,whichstipulatehowapostaladdressistobewritten,includingtheorderinwhichpostaladdresselementsaretoappear,requiredandoptionalelements,andthepresentationorrenditionoftheelements,subjecttoconstraintsonthespaceavailableforthattask.Languagessuitableforhumancomprehensionandcomputerprocessingofpostaladdresstemplatesaredefinedanddescribed.Italsodefinesanumberofusefulterms,suchasdeliveryaddress,forwardingaddress,maileeandmailoriginator.Byprovidingastandarddictionaryofpostaladdresscomponents,thisstandardisexpectedtogreatlyfacilitatetheformaldescriptionofactualaddressrepresentationsandthedefinitionofproceduresformappingbetweenthem.Inpractice,manyaddressrepresentations,whetherincomputerdatabases,inelectronicmessagesorinprintedorwrittenform,combineseveralofthepostaladdresscomponentsdefinedhereinintosinglefieldsorlines.Considerableintelligencemayberequiredinmappingbetweendifferentrepresentations,particularlywherethesearesubjecttoadegreeofambiguity.Thisstandarddoesnotspecifythelengthorvaluerangeofcomponents.Thisstandarddoesnotcoverthetopicofdataprotection.Usersofthisstandardareneverthelessremindedthatthestorageandexchangeofpersonaldataaresubjecttolegislationinmanycountries.Thisstandardmaybeappliedonlytotheextentthatthisiscompliantwithsuchlegislation.
